Pentax k20d has a pentax kaf2 lens mount and currently there are 161 native lenses available for this mount. A ultra telephoto zoom lens incorporating sigma's original optical stabiliser function. I have a tamrac messenger 4 for a smaller bag.

In part this is probably due to the optical stabiliser that is fitted inside the newer canon, nikon and sigma versions (but not the older pentax and sony models). Thank you very much for purchasing a sigma lens. The lens employs sigma's original optical stabilizer (os) function, which gives you access to shutter speeds approximately four stops slower without blurring the image. Neither nikon nor canon offers any zoom beyond 300 or 400mm, and this lens' price, at $1,000, is very reasonable.

This is very much the sigma superzoom’s forte. For the cost that you would be charged, it would make better sense to buy a used 7d for $500 and the sigma contemporary for $900 and use the kit for birds or sports. In order to get the maximum performance and enjoyment out of your sigma lens, please read. Autofocus is leisurely, so it's not ideal for action, but for nature, landscapes and portraits where you really need 500mm, go for it!
