The heel portion of the heated insoles does not warm up. • heated insoles do not get “hot” to the touch and will not get as hot as disposable/chemical warming pads. Once i have used them more extensively, they may well deserve a five star rating. Thermacell’s heated shoe inserts are optimized for cushioning and stability. It got to the point that i removed the insoles after each use in an attempt to keep my shoes from permanently smelling the same way.
