It comes with a lens hood so that you don’t have to buy it separately. Tamron do makes number of so called super zoom, and they certainly have their place if your photography is mainly lot. A longer maximum focal length allows you to focus in on a small part of a scene, and offers a narrower angle of view than shorter focal lengths. The tamron does hunt with the slow aperture above 200mm, that is more a artifact that the auto focus of most cameras struggle when.
