Bottom of the line rifle, but it is the same as a savage 10 action and easily upgraded. This little rifle is just fun, there is no other way around it. Up for sale is my stevens model 200 which is made by savage.
Savage Stevens 200 223 The Firing Line Forums
So here's the new project gun for the 2 hr lunch channel to play with.
This is $70 less than the normal price just about everywhere.
Academy had a stevens 200 rifle in 223 for $229. Also it make loading the top feed a chore. The ssf will take care of any feeding problems.mike. My tightest group i've ever shot was out of my.223 stevens 200,.
The stevens 200 is a great buy.but before i'd buy one and drop a sss trigger in for $100 i'd suggest looking at a t3 tikka in syn/blue in 223.possibly w/8 twist.(my t3 ss varmint 223 is 8 twist) you'd be the same $$ in the rifles plus have a very decent trigger.better barrel & a drop mag.
The stock it has on it is the stock that it came with from the factory but it is spray painted. Magazine capacity is four rounds for all chamberings. The rifle is manufactured by savage arms with the main difference. My scope is so low that the ao barely clears.
The trigger, although not too soft, enables accurate fire with relatively short pull.
Been loading a light whistle pig load in my remington 700.223 varmit rifle that shoots sub 1/2 consistantly. A good platform for a build. It's the savage/stevens model 200 in.223 remington. Savage/stevens 200 another +1 for a stevens 200 in 5.56/.223.
Plenty of upgrade parts available, cheap to shoot, and.223 is a great round to learn how to reload with.
Soft point ahead of 42 gr of 4064 into 1/2 & smaller at 100 yrds. I went to the gun store to order a stevens 200 in.223 last week. Being chambered in 223 its a dream to shoot and surprisingly enough its pretty accurate. This is $70 less than the normal price just about everywhere.
I bought for varment hunting.
Stevens 200 action is the same as one used for more costly savage model 110. Its probably 3 or 4 sheets of paper in clearance. My stevens 200 will put a hornady 70 gr. Add a rifle basix trigger and a single shot follower and you're good to go!
I don't know if they meant the stevens 200 in.223 or the stevens 200 itself.
To give you an idea, i can buy an aftermarket trigger for less than $100 and. If you reload then, the accuracy potential goes up just like any other rifle. Many buy them just for the action to start a custom build. Ive got a vortex diamondback on it 4x12x40 ao with dead nutz game reaper mount.
Academy had a stevens 200 rifle in 223 for $229.
The stevens 200 is pretty much the old savage model 10 rifle. The rifle is manufactured by savage arms with the main difference between it and their much higher priced tifles being the lack of their accutrigger system. Like savages, the stevens' bolt features a set of twin lugs. All of the distributors that he buys from here in the northeast said that it's been discontinued.
I'm thinking of one in.243 for ground hogs and
The rifle is in ok condition it has fired over 400 rounds. From what i have read people are seeing decent accuracy but the stock seems to be the weakest point. This gun is totally stock, except. If the.223 will do that i will be pleased.
When i went to the store earlier today to pick it up, the owner told me that he couldn't get one.
Yesterday, i ran across a deal i could not pass up. I can't beleive the low cost of this thing, looking at the website its basically a savage 110 right ? Swap the barrel and bolt head and you can make it just about any caliber you want. Less bells & whistles but still a savage action and barrel which should make it a shooter.
The savage 200 223 i got shoots so well, id hate to to let it go.
The magazine is completely enclosed within.
