So i was going to connect the ring pro directly to the transformer.

Look for wires labeled front and transformer. use the wire clips to connect the front wire to the black wire on the the wire harness. The most common fix for power issues is bypassing your doorbell with a pro power kit v2. When the button outside is pressed the circuit is completed and power flows momentarily to the chime to cause it to ring. Connect the wire harness to the kit.

Disconnect your bell's front wire. Another difference with the pro power kit is that the included wire harness no longer has a fuse on one of the wires (the fuse was incorporated into the pro power kit itself). Its purpose is to stop that humming you described which is caused by sending a small voltage to your chime from the ring since connecting it is completing the circuit vs normal operation is a momentary completion every time someone presses the doorbell. With the ring doorbell it needs constant power to stay on, which isn't typical so it's also constantly sending a little voltage (1.4v as far as i could tell while testing it) and that can cause some chimes to continually ring softly or just hum because it's getting power.
This name did a better job of communicating what it does which is send more power to the doorbell.
Firmly insert the doorbell wires into the bypass mode holes on the pro power kit v2 until they lock into place. If your ring video doorbell pro or video doorbell pro 2 is hooked up to an internal chime, you'll need to check that your pro power kit is properly installed. Pro power kit sounds more sleek and accurate. So i pulled new wire through from my old doorbell to the transformer.
