Thank you for your post, did you have the shunt removed after the removal of the pineal cyst. However, when symptoms do occur, they are difficult to attribute specifically to the pineal cyst. Pineal cysts are most common in young adults, especially women. So i had traditional open brain surgery to remove the cyst & my pineal gland which had been destroyed by the cyst. I've posted about this before but it's been a little while. A biopsy to obtain a small piece of tumor for pathology or a full surgical resection to remove as much of the mass as possible are options.

On the first day of pilonidal cyst recovery time a patient is forbidden from getting up categorically. However the surgical management is safe and is no longer associated with the degree of risk that once complicated these types of surgery.
