If the bulbs are not on a dimmer, no hum. The living room lights are on their own circuit. Why are my led lights making a buzzing noise? The dimming function works fine and there is no flickering, however there is a buzzing noise from the lamp when not on max brightness.
Why do my dimmable bulbs buzz?
Your dimmer is probably not compatible with these led bulbs. I just recently swapped out 4 halogens for leds in my pot lights. For example, some dimmer switches do not work properly when a led bulb is installed. Some quick searches indicate it might be an incompatible dimmer.
Not all bulbs are dimmable, so make sure the ones in your fixture are.
(they also don't seem to really dim very much even with the dimmer all the way down, despite the bulbs claiming to dim to 10% and the dimmer to 20%, i think.) When an led bulb makes that annoying humming noise, it’s usually attributed to the dimmer. Cheaply made dimmers and magnetic ballasts are likely to cause buzzing. We've just had our kitchen relocated and have 2 banks of 9 gu10 lap dimmable 5w bulbs from screwfix. I have lutron toggler/ariadni c&l dimmers all over my house, most of which control 6 led retrofits.

All bulbs are prone to buzzing, not just dimmable leds. I already have a set of these bulbs in our old kitchen and have been impressed with their output. When your light fixture is buzzing or humming, it is either a loose wire, or more likely, an issue with the light bulb. In this case, there is another issue that’s causing the problem.
Like we mentioned above, not all types of bulbs are compatible with all dimmer switches.
Either way they are all dimmable and ones on the list or not on the list all hum. I get buzzing/humming from lights on either switch. However, there are times when you’ll hear your led bulbs buzzing but they have no dimmer. The cause is almost always a compatibility issue between the dimmer and the led’s driver (power supply).
