They've worked just fine here for the past two decades. In the mean time, notepad++ does support insert mode. Just to clarify that the insert key and the backspace key still work the only key on my keyboard that does not work is the delete key.

I think i got the laptop on may 2, 2006. Mac doesn't have an insert key, or know how to respond to one. If none of these work you should contact the website support for information about how their editor works. Apparently notepad.exe is too basic an editor and does not support the overtype mode.
My keyboard has a separate f12 and a separate eject key, so it was the fn+eject key that functioned as an insert key.
Used fn + insert, ctrl + insert, numlock + insert, alt + insert, used everything i saw fit, none of it worked, please help me if you know, thank you.
