Since you are not alone in wanting to visit horseshoe bend before “actual” sunrise, i would recommend contacting the city office economic development and tourism to voice your concerns.
The added bonus is that unlike at sunrise, the sun does not cast a. If you go in late spring, the summer months, or early fall, sunset should be spectacular. Bring salty snacks in case you get hungry! It was a magnificent experience.

In horseshoe bend, arkansas, the first day of march is 11 hours, 27 minutes long. The last day of the month is 12 hours, 36 minutes, so the length of the days gets 1 hour, 9 minutes longer in march 2022. Sunrise sunset times are given at horseshoe bend. Getting to horseshoe bend, or the grand canyon in general for that matter, is going to require a few hours of driving from any major airport (phx, las, slc). That said, my experience at horseshoe bend was far better at dawn and then sunrise than it was at sunset. I watched the sunset at horseshoe bend in may of 2019.

More dramatic.over the course of a typical late summer day. (although you would be shooting directly into the sun at this time). There were no screaming chinese tour groups like there were at sunset, although 2 buses full poured in as soon as we were leaving.
