This includes connecting the power switch, reset switch, hard drive led light, power led light. When your storage connected to the motherboard is being written to or read from, the hdd light will be on or maybe flashing. Are there pins somewhere on the motherboard to put this connector, because i don't even see a second hdd led on the case itself!

So, i'd say ide activity led is better, because it takes into account the variety of devices that may be causing activity on the ide channels. Having fit a perc h700 into my machine , i am wondering if there is a hdd led connector on this card, there appears to be quite a few headers, but no documentation anywhere as to what they do! Hdd led connector are vital and increase the production process. I have the same case here, and have 3 sets of connectors for the fp1 connector.

I have been building custom systems now for many years. I have a promise sx4000 ata raid controller, which appears to have connections for only 2 hdd leds, while at the same time, supporting 4 drives. The one thing i have always focused on more than anything is perfecting the quality of my builds. Nope, a hdd led is not needed.
I also have an hdd led on the case which has an hdd led connector to connecto to this socket on the motherboard.

This indicator is the light that flashes as information is being written to and read from the hard drive. Something that comes across in my builds which many people notice is that i tend to every little detail. Pled (power led) the led power light indicates whether the computer is turned on, off, or in standing mode. They give smooth electrical connectivity operation and are easy to upgrade in accordance with user preference.
None of the 4000 series, or 5000 series comes with a hdd led indicator, so this is a mistake in the user manual.
