“it is not good for the man to be alone.” throughout chapter one, god surveys his work and pronounces it good (1:10, 12, 18, 21, 25, 31).

This is the first time god says that something in his creation is not good:
The creation is completed—god rests on the seventh day—the prior spirit creation is explained—adam and eve are placed in the garden of eden—they are forbidden to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil—adam names every living creature—adam and eve are married by the lord. And the lord god said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him. Whatever the man called each living creature was then its name.
When you read genesis 1 & 2, the words of 2:18 hit abruptly:
I will make him a helper suitable for him. genesis 2:18(nasb) Genesis exodus leviticus numbers deuteronomy joshua judges ruth. I will make him an help meet for him. I will make a helper suitable for him.”.
Then the lord god said, it is not good for the man to be alone;
I will make a helper who is just right for him.'
