This started life as a colombian model 1930 mauser 98 built on contract by fn in belgium for colombia in 7mm. Usa, zambia, new zealand, namibia. Scope mounts included,but not scope.

Bolt is bent, has the full spelling of fn on left side of receiver, short barrel, and is pretty much all there with a rough finish. Purchased this rifle without a bolt, the rifle is in excellent condition with really nice bore, deep and sharp rifling. Mauser oberndorf mod.98 sporter mannlicher 8x57 is.323. Gorgeous deep rust bluing is 99.9% high figure europen walnut is easily 99%. Stock is solid showing dings/scratches.

The bottom metal was then finished with brownell's oxpho blue. Use as is or would be an excellent basis for a custom. A nice oberndorf mauser 98 with a period zeiss zielklein 22mm 2.5 x in redfield mounts nicley done. Bore is clean with exc rifling and has pitting.

Stock and action matching sn. The sn does not match the rifle but is the correct (straight bolt handle) for this rifle, the head spacing has been checked at a gunsmith and is good. Market,these rifles are indentical to the browning safari grade.this on has a 24 barrel with a mint bore.it has the mauser long claw extractor with controlled feed.this rifle also has factory double set triggers which is unusual in this model.this rifle is in excellent all origianl condiition.
