So im trying to get into bows, and have heard different things and mixed feelings on them.
The greatbows have superb damage and not only kill poise but knock people over outright, but are slow.
Up to two kinds of arrow can be equipped at a time, and these can be switched as necessary. New londo ruins, on a ledge above the large gates overlooking valley of drakes. Composite is faster and ends up becoming stronger at later levels of str and dex. Cannot be infused or buffed.

Though more powerful than standard bows, it also requires more strength of the user, and its range is short. :) i know titanite shards are plentiful so i'm getting my longbow and shortbow to +3 at least, might also get a composite up to +3 when i get it, will decide later (because i rock 2 shields and 2 melee weapons).
The total ar is showing 300 for dragonslayer greatbow and 250.

Black bow of pharis, it has the most range among the bows, and more range means more damage. Composite bow is best overall on a quality build, but pharis wins on a dex build.
