Since an 8x8x8 led cube consists of, well 8x8x8 = 512 leds, we cannot control all these 512 leds at once. Our first cube is a 4x4x4 led cube and though we managed to successfully complete it without too much difficulty, we did not find much excitement and satisfaction experimenting with it. 1 arduino/freeduino with atmega168 or higher chip 512 leds, size and color are up to you, i used 3mm red 4 a6276ea led driver chips from allegro 8 npn transistors to control the voltage flow, i used the bdx53b darlington transistor 4 1000 ohm resistors, 1/4 watt or higher 12 560 ohm resistors, 1/4 watt or higher 1 330uf electrolytic.

I don't think these codes were written to my particular specifications. What we can do is control 64 leds at a time at an extremely fast rate and trick our brain as if we were controlling all the 512 leds.
