But it's totally personal preference.
It creates a great background compression and separates your subject from the background in all kinds of shots. The 50mm on the other hand is obviously wider, and doesn't expand the background like the 200mm does. 50mm is fine for half body portraits in my opinion, and honestly i've done upper body portraits that look great at 35mm. However, the 50mm has more perks for the price, such as sharper focus, higher compatibility on more camera models, and amazing bokeh.
