45/70 can be loaded mild to nearly wild in the marlin.

The.444 shoots much flatter than most folks realize.
It has never been the most popular lever gun load, but the.300 savage retains more energy at longer distances than its closest competitors. I have two.444's and a.450. Ballistic penetration test, i used three different type of bullet; Have quite a bit of experience with both.
