A telephoto lens will compress the image so it looks like the objects are closer together. I have a nikon d800, d600, and coolpix p900. In fact the only one comes from nikon.

I want to take another camera and was considering whether i should take the d600 with a lens for landscapes or the coolpix p900 so that i could zoom in farther than the d800. For photography, the tube lens is installed between the objective and the sensor. So why do so few photographers own this lens?
